A dark-fantasy universe

Critfall

One world. Two ways to play.

Two games. One world — Vharendol — lit against the same dark. A living MMORPG of light you fight to hold, and an AI-run dungeon crawl where the dice never lie.

Two doors, one world

Pick how you walk in.

Critfall isn’t one game with a sequel — it’s one world told two ways. Step onto the surface where Ember holds back the Gloom, or descend into the debt-city where the only monster scarier than a goblin is your balance due.

Emberlight · MMORPG

Critfall Online

Hold the light. Hold the world.

A living open world where light is a resource you fight to hold. The Unkindling receded and left Founts — wellsprings of Ember. Claim a Fount and the world blooms into a warm Holdfast around you; lose it and the cold Gloom takes it back.

Grimecrawl · AI co-op dungeon crawl

Critfall Tales

An AI runs the table. The dice do not lie.

A 2–4 player co-op dungeon crawl run by an AI Dungeon Master — the Keeper. It improvises the world, the monsters, and the story live, while a deterministic engine owns every die and rule. Honest dice: a nat-1 really kills you. Set in Grimecrawl, where debt is law.

One world, two regions

The same dark, two kinds of light.

Both games are set in Vharendol — just very different corners of one world born in the Fall. Warm Ember above; the cold glow of accounting below.

Emberlight

Hopeful dark fantasy · "cozy-grim"

A surface world the Gloom almost swallowed. Warm Ember light against cold dark.

Founts pool with Ember; claim one and a Holdfast blooms around it, warm and defensible. Beyond the firelight the Gloom waits, patient and cold. Caravans run the dangerous wilds between Holdfasts, carrying light to places that have forgotten it. Earnest, hopeful, and just grim enough to matter.

Grimecrawl

Dark-comedy heist

A city that fell down a hole and decided to call it ambition. Debt is law.

An underground debt-city beneath a forgotten mountain, lit by fungus-lamps and the cold glow of accounting. The Ledger of Debts and the goblin-run First Bank of Grime own everyone in red ink. Pick a side — The Firm, the Sump Syndicate, or the Unwritten — and try to leave solvent. Gallows humor, customer-service horror, mostly bloodless.
